Industrial Style

Spread the love

The industrial style originated from old factories and warehouses converted into homes, especially in New York in the 1950s. It highlights raw materials like exposed brick, concrete, metal, and aged wood. Technical elements such as pipes and steel beams are intentionally left visible, giving a rugged and authentic feel. The furniture is functional, heavy, and inspired by workshop equipment. The color palette is neutral and dark — grays, browns, black — with occasional leather or warm wood tones. Open spaces, high ceilings, and large windows are typical.

Key Characteristics:

  • Raw materials (brick, metal, concrete)
  • Neutral, dark tones
  • Open spaces and visible structures
  • Vintage or repurposed furniture
  • Industrial lighting and accessories
